Chiclana a nearby town has a lovely boulevard overlooking the river Rio Iro. There is a large market open from 08.00-14.00 with everything as fresh as can be of all food stuffs, and many places to enjoy tapas. Parking is available below the market. Churros can be enjoyed early in the mornings from a stall situated just before the market place on the right.

 

Situated on top of a hill there are some magnificent views all the way to the ocean. Park your car after the central square on the right and enjoy a coffee accompanied by Tortas Pardas (almond-flavoured pastry filled with pumpkin syrup).

Climb your way up to the old church and have lunch in 'La Vista' with a view you will never forget! (closed on wednesday). 

 

 

This deserted old fisherman's village is one of our favourite places to visit the beach. Park your car on the right side of the road and walk to the sea. There's a little chiringuito on the right where the beer is cold and the music great.

This is a place where the Spanish families come to enjoy their holiday. The sunset is magnificent and should not be missed.

 

 

This Moorish village is situated 190m above sea-level and attracts many tourists. Life is easy going among the 10.000 inhabitants who always have time for a chat. Enjoy the numerous lovely patio’s with abundant colourful flowers.To get into the town, park you car on the left and climb the stairs. August is prime holiday time and overcrowded with tourists.

 

 

This fairy tale old town situated on top of a hill is a wonderland of labyrinths, a feast for photographers. The wind funnels through the narrow streets as cars navigate the tight corners. Join a kid’s soccer game in the church yard, or enjoy a moonlight view from the main square, place del Cabildo. This is one of the most beautiful peublos blancos.

 

 

The Torre Tavira, near the Central Market (Mercado de Abastos) displays a ‘camera obscura’. Located in one of the towers orginally used by merchants to watch out for their ships returning home, providing a bird’s eye view of the old part of the town. The Central Market itself is well worth a visit in the morning. At 2 o'clock the whole place becomes a giant tapas-restaurant!

 

If you plan a visit for more than one day stay at the Hotel ‘Dar Jameel’ and have an unforgettable experience. Definitely make reservations for the beautiful hotel, with magnificant views, delicious meals and heartwarming hospitality. Get there from Tarifa by fast ferry. Enjoy the City where East meets West as Churchill did.

 

While Cadiz is the grand old lady of the South , Jerez is the light-hearted daughter. This Sherry-Town has much to offer, but beware: in summer it can be quite hot here! Plaza del Arenal and Plaza de Plateros are good places to do some ‘people watching’. If you are here in may, don't miss the 'Feria de Caballos', you will never forget this colourfull spectacle!
